New York Yankees Sports Tickets

November 18th, 2009

Macie asked:

New York Yankees face depletion of their farm system because of various reasons trades, free agent acquisitions, the aging or departure of the players who had formed the core of the Yankees during the late 1990s and allegedly poor coaching. Buster Olney, in his book The Last Night of the New York Yankees Dynasty, argues that George Steinbrenner’s management style resulted in the players burning out psychologically. Sportswriter Larry Mahnken has jokingly proposed his theory in the form of “Curse of Clay Bellinger” meaning the New York Yankees will never again win the World Series until either they make amends to utility player Clay Bellinger who left following the 2001 season or they win the championship anyway. http://www.ticketmayor.com While quite a creative explanation by analogy with the Curse of the Bambino, this tautology is all a joke and not a thing to be taken seriously.

Several sabermetricians have argued that success in the playoffs is mostly the result of luck but the fact remains that the production of the New York Yankees’ core players has decreased steadily since their 1996 World Series title. But the New York Yankees are listening! They’ve seriously upgraded their pitching staff with Carl Pavano, Jaret Wright, Mike Stanton, Felix Rodriguez and Randy Johnson but no one knows why Carlos Beltran wasn’t signed up. George Steinbrenner has his hopes up with Randy Johnson. He feels proud that the team has finally landed the greatest left-hander in the game, filling the void left last winter when Andy Pettitte departed for Houston and David Wells headed to San Diego as free agents. .

The 6-foot-10 Johnson joins a rotation that features Mike Mussina, Carl Pavano, Jaret Wright and Kevin Brown. General manager Brian Cashman is all excited about the 41-year-old Big Unit, too as he was the man who made Yankees lose two championships in 1995 (American League Division Series) and 2001 (World Series). He gave the New York Yankees the bona fide No.1 starter. New York Yankees sent pitchers Javier Vazquez and Brad Halsey, catcher Dioner Navarro and Dollars9 million to the Diamondbacks for the five-time Cy Young Award winner, who passed his physical on Monday.

Major changes have been made for the New York Yankees 2007 season. Gary Sheffield has been traded off to Detroit for pitching prospects and pitcher Jaret Wright to the Orioles for Chris Britton. Japanese pitcher, Kei Igawa, signed a five-year contract with the Yankees, after he won the negotiating rights with a Dollars26 million bid. Former Yankee, Andy Pettitte, also signed up for the 2007 season. Randy Johnson was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for Luis Vizcaìno, reliever. Three minor leaguers were also brought in. One of the famous and greatest Yankee hitting instructors, Don Mattingly has been promoted to bench coach and according to speculations that are doing rounds, Mattingle might even replace Joe Torre, the team skipper. Bernie Williams, the longest-tenured Yankee outfielder was offered the opportunity to join the non-roster Spring Training, but he declined.

The world’s first 200-million Dollars baseball team has appeared in 39 matches, out of which they won 26 World Series.

Cleveland Indians Baseball Tickets Available

November 10th, 2009
world series tickets
Jeff asked:

Based in Cleveland, Ohio - the Indians are a professional major league baseball team established back in 1901.  The team was named the Indians because of the request made by the club owner after the 1914 season, the team is also known by two other nicknames such as the Tribe and the Wahoos.  The term Wahoo is a direct reference to the team logo which features a Native American that has gotten the team some but you are amongst Native Americans for helping perpetuate this stereotype.

Their current ballpark is the Progressive Field; the team owner is Larry Dolan, the manager is Eric Wedge and the General Manager is Mark Shapiro.

Import moments and accomplishments:

The Cleveland Indians are all about accomplishments, as a matter of fact, they have a great number of major league baseball titles to show for it.  The Indians have earned five American League pennants in five different years (1920, 1948, 1954, 1995 and finally 1997); they have also won seven central division titles in almost seven consecutive years which is nothing less than extremely impressive, they span throughout 1995 and 2007 and last but not least they have had to successful world series participations in the years of 1920 in 1948 and by the look of things they’re not too far away from once again tasting sweet victory.

Pitchers in the current roster:

-Fausto Carmona

-German Sowers

-Cliff Lee

-Zach Jackson

-Anthony Reyes

-Scott Lewis

Cleveland Indians recent news:

The Cleveland Indians seem to have quite a brilliant future up ahead as Cliff Lee has been called the 2008 comeback player of the year and this is not a title given because he got lucky but because of the fact that he has proven to be quite an effective pitcher, a pitcher who has literally to carry his struggling team on his shoulders and put them on a more favorable position.

As many of his teammates put it, they feel very comfortable about going into the off-season knowing that they have the top of the line pitcher backing them up and making things happen.

Terrific Baseball With Detroit Tigers Tickets

November 8th, 2009
world series tickets
Al Terry asked:

For those who want to catch some championship baseball, Detroit Tigers tickets are about the best you can get. While most teams are described as being consistent players, the Tigers are a team who are consistent winners, notching up American League pennants and World Series titles with apparent ease.

The Detroit Tigers are affiliated with the American League and the Central Division within Major League baseball. Their home ground is Comerica Park and the team is also known as the Bless You Boys. They have four World Series titles to their name, ten American League pennants and three titles from their former East Division.

A Slow Start

It might be hard to believe, but at one time nobody was interested in Detroit Tigers tickets. In fact, baseball in Detroit seemed to be in doldrums and the team was unable to pull in the fans that they needed to be a force to reckon with in the major leagues. For a team that had its beginnings in 1894, it wouldn’t be until 1905, when Ty Cobb, one of the biggest names in baseball took over the reigns of the team that things would begin to change.

It would take time but slowly the team began to find its strength and by the 1930s they were ranked among the best in the league. 1934 and 1935 in particular were great years for the Tigers as they pulled in World Series titles and an American League pennant. The fans loved it and Detroit Tigers tickets were in demand.

Highs And Lows

It seemed like the Tigers were a team that just wouldn’t quit. They grew from strength to strength, rising to the top yet again in 1968 when they scored another double World Series and American League win. But the Tigers seemed to run out of steam in the early seventies. Although the fans kept buying Detroit Tigers tickets and packing the stadiums, it was obvious that the team was mostly made up of veterans who had passed their prime.

It wouldn’t be until 1979 that the Tigers would have a turn-around under Sparky Anderson. He predicted a win for the team in five years and sure enough, the Tigers brought in an American League pennant in 1984. Though their performance had definitely improved, another World Series title kept eluding them. Many believe this played on team morale because the Tigers entered a slump which lasted until 2000. However, in 2006 the Tigers came back with a resounding roar, taking back their American League champ status and making it to the World Series. Today, the Tigers are a serious force to contend with for any baseball team.

Many baseball fans love to get Detroit Tigers tickets to watch them battle it out with their rivals, which include the Toronto Blue Jays, Cleveland Indians and the Chicago White Sox. The Tigers have also put some outstanding names in the Baseball Hall of Fame, including Ty Cobb, Sparky Anderson, Mickey Cochrane, Sam Crawford and Goose Goslin. You can always count on great baseball action with the Tigers so an investment in Detroit Tigers tickets is an investment in a great baseball game. For fans buying their tickets online, make sure you get them from an authorized ticket vendor.

Kansas City Royals recent news:

Even though the Kansas City royals have not had a bright participation quite recently, there are several reasons to view the 2009 season with bright eyes.  Hillman has observed the team performance and based on that data gathered he is now able to tell what the areas he needs to work in order to turn things around and get the most out of the off-season.

Gil Meche and Zack Greinke have provided great contributions to the team and they add a solid foundation to the rotation and as Hillman says, it is sort of like the 1-2 combo punch of a boxer.

September 11th, 2009
world series tickets
Jeff asked:

Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota - the Minnesota Twins are a professional baseball team that was established back in 1901, and they are one of the eight AL charter franchises.  The reason the team carries the name “twins” is because of the symbolism and representation of the twin cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The Minnesota Twins have not always been known by that name, from 1901 to 1960 the franchise was referred to as the Washington national’s or the Washington senators so it wasn’t until 1961 when the team became known as the Minnesota twins.  The team ballpark is the Hubbard Humphrey Metrodome; the team owner is Carl Pohlad, the team manager is Ron Gardenhire and the General Manager is Bill Smith.

Pitchers in the current roster:

-Kevin Slowey

-Scott Baker

-Glenn Perkins

-Francisco Liriano

-Nick Blackburn

Minnesota Twins recent news:

Even though the team did not realized the goal of reaching the postseason by ironically, one run they certainly proved many people wrong at bay shield that they were not on the mist of that’s what is known as a rebuilding season.  While it is true that there are many rookies on the team, the veterans are putting all their efforts into teaching the new talent all their wits and make the team even stronger, such team spirit this sure to come across in future seasons.

In addition, the blue trees have won five east division titles (1985, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993); we have also won two American League pennants in two consecutive years (1992 and 1993) and last but not least they have also earned two world series titles in the same two years recently mentioned.

Besides county with a very effective pitcher, the blue jays also count with players such as Wells who are home run machines and are able to take the team from 0 to 60 in just a few seconds (figuratively speaking of course)

Royal Baseball With Kansas City Royals Tickets

July 1st, 2009
world series tickets
Al Terry asked:

Baseball fans can really experience a royal baseball treat with Royals tickets. Despite their name, the Kansas City Royals are often seen as the underdogs in major league baseball, particularly following their recent slump. However, like true underdogs, the Royals have always put up a great game and baseball observers have noted that the Royals seem poised for a big comeback this year.

The Kansas City Royals are part of the Central Division and the American League, within Major League baseball. They play out of Kauffman Stadium when they are at home and are known as The Boys in Blue. So far, they have one World Series title to their name as well as two American League pennants.

The New Kid On The Block

Compared to other baseball teams that have been around since the 1800s, the Royals are relative newcomers, hitting the field for the first time in 1969. However, the Royals were able to make a hard-hitting impact early on, scoring a win in their first official game and maintaining a good edge from then on. Game attendance rose as more fans bought Royals tickets and came to see the games.

By the early eighties, the Royals were doing pretty well for themselves. In 1984, the team was involved in what is known as the Pine Tar Incident. George Brett had just smashed a home run when the umpire noticed a heavy amount of pine tar on Brett’s bat. The home run was disallowed, Brett stormed off and a piece of baseball folklore was born.

Hitting High And Hitting Low

The infamous Pine Tar Incident also did not stop fans from purchasing their Royals tickets and they weren’t disappointed. The Royals pulled off a splendid World Series win in 1985, crowning themselves as the true kings of the field. For many, this would prove to be the high point, after which the Royals would keep playing a steady game without doing anything remarkable. And as is natural, the Royals began to hit a slump in 1995.

Many factors contributed to this slump. Not only did the Royals lose their manager and owner in quick succession, the team also got their payrolls pinched. All this combined to lower the team’s morale and by 2006, the Royals were at the very bottom of the pile. By 2007, efforts were made to shake the team up and as a result, the current line up appears to be one of the most aggressive so far. With a new motto and a new look, the Royals are ready to win back their crown.

Due to the fact that the Kansas City Royals are still relatively new as a team, they have not yet established any long-standing or fierce rivalries. However, Royals tickets are always a hot commodity because they have always had a good roster of players. In fact, despite its youth, the team has managed to add a few good names to the Baseball Hall of Fame, including George Brett, Gaylord Perry and Orlando Cepeda. Don’t miss your chance to see some great baseball the next time the Kansas City Royals play close by. You can even buy your tickets online from an authorized ticket vendor.

Los Angeles Dodgers Tickets – June Team Overview

May 31st, 2009
playoff tickets
Brent Warnken asked:

Los Angeles Dodgers tickets are going to be very popular this summer, as they always seem to pick up sales numbers when the hot months begin. Spending a day at the ballpark with the Dodgers in the summertime sounds like a great idea, especially because the team is doing well. As we enter the month of June, the Dodgers are in second place in their division, and if they can improve a few of their numbers, we could be seeing Los Angeles Dodgers tickets available for the playoffs by fall. Let’s take a quick look at the stats the team has generated as of June 3.

Pitching: So far this season, the Dodgers are doing just about as well pitching as they were last season. As of June 4, 2008, the Dodgers have a team ERA of 3.93 (ranked 4th among National League teams). They have allowed only 42 home runs, the fewest in the NL. The closers are, in a word, awesome so far. Takashi Saito has an ERA of 1.90 with 8 saves, and Joe Beimel has a 1.50 ERA in 18 innings of work. Basically, this team is looking very good heading into the heart of the summer. If you enjoy great pitching and defense, then Los Angeles Dodgers tickets are the way to go.

Batting: As of June 4, 2008, the Dodgers are ranked 12th in the National League in total runs (257). It’s hard to say that Andruw Jones, the big offseason pickup for the Dodgers over the winter, was the main reason for their numbers, as he has been less than stellar so far. Jones is batting .165 with a .271 slugging percentage. He has only 2 home runs. So despite the fact that Jones is in a major slump, there are some great hitters stepping up in 2008. Almost everyone else in the standard lineup is swinging well. One of the better hitters has been Raphael Furcal, who did not get much attention as a fantasy player to beginning the year. However, his .366 batting average and .597 slugging percentage has made him one of the most consistent hitters in all of baseball.

Other stats for the team offense are positive as well. The Dodgers are currently (as of June 4, 2008) ranked 5th in the NL in on base percentage (.335), and they have stolen the 4th most bases (50) in the National League. If you like good offense, then you should certainly try to get some Los Angeles Dodgers tickets this summer.
