Rip-roaring Basketball With Toronto Raptors Tickets

December 16th, 2009
playoff tickets
Al Terry asked:

Toronto Raptors tickets are not tickets to any basketball game- if there was ever a team that had all the odds stacked against them and more struggles than victories, it has to be the Raptors. And yet, despite these odds, the Raptors have gone on to quietly establish themselves as a formidable team to deal with on the court.

The Toronto Raptors are based in Ontario, Canada and play their home games from the Air Canada Center. The team is part of the National Basketball Association and is also affiliated to the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference. They have only garnered one division title so far in their career.

Thomas Tips

The Raptors were born in 1993, playing their first game in 1995. The team name, colors and logo was decided via a contest that was held right across the nation. The name Raptors was ultimately chosen in light of the Jurassic Park fever that had gripped the country. One of the main reasons why Toronto Raptors tickets sold so well was, because none other than basketball legend Isaiah Thomas was the general manager of the team.

Thomas quickly got into gear, putting his own personnel onto the team and choosing players that were former teammates and veterans. While some inclusions were met with boos, the team proved to be a strong start, doing in such giants as the Chicago Bulls. While they were improving steadily, Thomas quit and the Raptors seemed to flounder with a team that was suddenly filled with young players.

Playoff Picks

The Raptors began working hard on their game, making sure to include a number of seasoned veterans in future draft picks. The effect was positive and fans showed their appreciation in rising sales of Toronto Raptors tickets. The team played well enough to be a regular member of the playoffs. The new millennium was unkind to the team, however, as injuries and a general dip in morale pulled the Raptors down. A number of players had to be dealt with for indiscipline or for being detrimental to the well-being of the team. However, the Raptors team today, is one that has been praised for its improved performance. Toronto Raptors tickets are still in demand, because many fans see a big win for the team soon, especially after they pulled off a division win in 2007.

If you want to get Toronto Raptors tickets, you better get them soon- Raptor tickets are one of the biggest sellers in the league. Over the years, the value of the franchise has risen steadily and the team’s fan base has also grown, though the team does much to encourage attendance, like organizing giveaways with tickets. The Raptors also do a lot of work in the community for a number of charities- these include youth programs as well as educational programs. They currently lead the NBA in the amount of money they have given to the community. It is obvious that the Raptors are winners both on the court and off. Most of the basketball world is getting ready to watch this team make a bid for the big win and you can be there to watch it all happen. Get in touch with an authorized online ticket vendor to get your Toronto Raptors tickets.

Los Angeles Lakers Tickets – Finals Favorites

October 5th, 2009
playoff tickets
Morgan Dunn asked:

What is the one thing that could increase the sale of Los Angeles Lakers tickets? Bringing the championship back to L.A., that’s what. The Lakers had a great 2007-2008 season. They dominated the competition in the regular season, securing the number one seed in a stacked Western Conference, and rolled through the conference in the playoffs. But when the Lakers got to the finals, it was a different story. They appeared to be outhustled and pushed around by a more physical Boston Celtics team.

While the Lakers had sailed through the first three rounds of the playoffs, the Celtics had struggled and battled, needing seven games to take down the eighth-seeded Atlanta Hawks in the first round. But the Celtics prevailed in the finals and defeated the Lakers 4-2, completely blowing them out in game six. While I’m still convinced that leprechauns, a pot of gold and perhaps the makers of Guinness and Jameson had some role in the Celtics pulling off the victory, there is no denying that they outplayed the Lake Show. I do, however, still consider the Lakers the favorite to win the NBA Finals in the 2008-2009 campaign.

Kobe Bryant is still the best player in the league until either LeBron James or Chris Paul proves otherwise and I wouldn’t be surprised if Bryant won back-to-back MVP awards. He’s the most versatile scorer in the league and a seven-time All Defensive first teamer. He will probably end up being considered the second-best shooting guard to play the game behind His Airness. He’s one of the biggest attractions the league has and sells more Los Angeles Lakers tickets than any other player on the team.

Paul Gasol, though a little soft at times, is one of the more skilled big men in the NBA. His skill set is more like that of a perimeter player, giving him a devastating offensive attack on the block and from midrange. Plus, he’s an excellent passer, which is paramount in the triangle offense that Head Coach Phil Jackson employs.

Lamar Odom is another great passer and a great third option, but the primary reason I believe the Lakers are the favorite for the title is the return of center Andrew Bynum. Just 20-years-old, Bynum was looking like one of the best big men in the league last season before a knee injury derailed his season. He’s reportedly healthy and ready to go this season. Bynum will fill the void of a defensive presence and toughness in the middle that was exploited by the Boston bigs in the finals. Bynum’s return will also allow Gasol to slide back to his natural position at power forward, as he spent most of his time at the five in Bynum’s absence.

Basketball fans in southern California should get their Los Angeles Lakers tickets now, because it looks like it’s going to be a banner year for the club in 2008-2009.

Phoenix Suns Tickets Will Bring You To The Local Nba Fireworks Show

September 19th, 2009
playoff tickets
Jay Nault asked:

If you manage to get your hands on Phoenix Suns tickets, you need to be ready to move your head back and forth as the ball zooms up and down the court for 48 frenetic minutes. The Suns make no apologies for their style of play, even though their offensive game tends to ruffle the feathers of basketball purists. The Suns have seemingly been in contention for the NBA title for years, and below we’ll take a look at their prospects for the upcoming season.

Additions

The Suns appeared to be relatively quiet during the summer, but they did actually change the face of their team somewhat. The Suns lost Tim Thomas, but brought in Eric Piatkowski and Marcus Banks and got star Amare Stoudemire back from a long battle with a knee injury. Piatkowski obviously brings a sharp shooter to the floor, which could and should be a good match for the Suns’ high-powered, high-flying offense, and Piatkowski could enjoy a year of catching bullets from Steve Nash outside the arc and firing away.

The Stoudemire “addition,” however, is what’s going to determine the fate of the Suns this year more than anything else. When he’s physically right, he’s completely dominant, and he’s worth the effort of obtaining Phoenix Suns tickets all by himself. However, when he’s not 100%, he can slow down the offense and create problems with ball movement. His healthy return is critical.

Strong Suit

It’s all about the offense with the Suns, as has been mentioned. The Suns like to put pure athletes on the floor, spread it out and run the other team into the ground over the course of 48 minutes. That strategy works well, particularly against plodding, physical teams who just can’t keep up with the speedy Suns. They don’t get tired, and Steve Nash is the best in the game when it comes to breaking down a defense and finding the open man. He’s also a master at dictating tempo. Hungry scorers like Shawn Marion and Boris Diaw know that their stat lines will look great if they run with Nash, and that’s exactly how the Suns operate.

Outlook

As fun as the Suns are to watch, there is one flaw that seems to haunt them every year in the playoffs. Their style is ultimately not enough to get them through the rugged Western Conference, as playoff basketball is just a different breed than regular season games. The Suns cannot be counted on the make that “big” stop when they need one, and that will get you eliminated in the postseason.

The Suns should once again cruise through the regular season, but they need to ramp up their defense if they’re going to get through the Mavericks, Spurs, Rockets and other teams with size and speed. If they can do that, they’re a threat to go all the way. If not, it’ll be another playoff disappointment. Regardless, Phoenix Suns tickets are always worth the effort to obtain, as they never fail to put on a great show.

Sharp Shooting Basketball Action With Detroit Pistons Tickets

September 9th, 2009
sports tickets
Al Terry asked:

Basketball fans can’t go wrong with tickets to see the Detroit Pistons play some live basketball. The Pistons have been around since the days of the National Basketball League and even then, they had distinguished themselves as champions. The team has also had its share of hard times and big stars.

The Detroit Pistons are based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and have their home turf at the Palace of Auburn Hills. They are a part of the National Basketball Association and are also part of the Central Division and the Eastern Conference. The Pistons have three championship wins to its name, seven conference titles, and ten division titles.

Old Glory

The Pistons were formed in 1941 and were initially a part of the National Basketball Association. At the time, they were known as the Fort Wayne Pistons and even then, they made a mark as a championship team, winning two championship titles and four division titles. In 1957, the team was moved to Detroit- since the Pistons already seemed like a strong team; people lined up for their Detroit Pistons tickets.

But, the move seemed to adversely affect the team. The Pistons found it hard to find their footing and their poor performances were reflected in the drop of sales of Detroit Pistons tickets. During the sixties and seventies, the Pistons proved to be a team that frustrated fans and observers alike, since they had a collection of fine players but as a team, the Pistons just couldn’t get it together.

Raising Isaiah

Things changed when a young player called Isaiah Thomas was drafted in the eighties. Thomas would not only prove to be one of the most valuable players in the NBA, he would also lead the Pistons in some truly memorable games and would push the team to play more aggressively. The team would be one of the NBA’s elite, throughout the eighties, but by the early nineties, the Pistons entered a rebuilding phase, as many of their prize players went into retirement. The team struggled and matters seemed to become worse when the team colors also changed, incorporating a teal color which fans greatly disliked. It wouldn’t be till the year 2000 that the Pistons would find their bearings once again. While 2004 marked a big year for the team as a championship outfit, it was also marred by an ugly incident known as the Piston- Pacers brawl, which was the biggest fan-player fight to ever break out in the history of American sports. Today, the Pistons are once again firmly among the NBA’s elite teams.

When it comes to buying Detroit Pistons tickets, some of the biggest buyers are also the biggest celebrities. A number of big names have been spotted at Piston games including, Eminem, Kid Rock, Stevie Wonder, Barry Sanders, Aretha Franklin and Anita Baker. Detroit Pistons tickets are also big with a number of fans outside of Michigan and the chant ‘ Deee-troit Basket-ball!’ is a popular one that can be heard when the team plays on the road. The Pistons definitely promise all their fans a great game of basketball, whenever they hit the court, so doesn’t miss your chance to see them live in action. Contact an authorized ticket vendor to purchase your Detroit Pistons tickets online.

Nba Tickets-youth Movements

August 30th, 2009
playoff tickets
Morgan Dunn asked:

Two teams that were having trouble selling NBA tickets only a year or two ago have reversed their fortunes much faster than expected. The Portland Trail Blazers and Philadelphia 76ers are winning with rosters full of young players, something very difficult to do in the NBA.

After going 32-50 two years ago, the Blazers improved to 41-41 last year and should only improve on that mark in the 2008-2009 season. The Blazers should be competing for a playoff spot in an extremely tough conference. The craziest part about that is the Blazers have 10 players on their roster that are 25 or younger. The team is led by do-it-all guard Brandon Roy. Roy, 23, averaged 19 points per game during his second season in the league and added nearly six assists and five rebounds per contest as well. The team also gets a lot of production out of 22-year-old LaMarcus Aldridge. Aldridge has a great jump shot for a 6-11 player and looks like an All-Star in the making. Martell Webster, 21, and Travis Outlaw, 23, are other quality players that contribute on a nightly basis. And don’t forget about Greg Oden. Last year’s number one overall pick missed all of his rookie season after undergoing micro fracture knee surgery last summer. If Oden recovers well from the injury, he could develop into one of the top centers in the league very quickly. His inside game and rebounding prowess should nicely compliment Aldridge’s inside-outside game and rebounding deficiencies while his inside presence as a shot blocker should vastly improve Portland’s interior defense. The Blazer’s have the thirteenth pick in the 08 draft, but a lot of draft prognosticators are looking for them to trade it for a veteran to help the young guns along. Regardless, it looks like Portland will be getting better every year and selling more NBA Tickets every year.

Many predicted that the 76ers would be the worst team in the NBA last season. After trading Allen Iverson in 2006, it appeared that Phili would be in for a long rebuilding process. With an average age of just 25, the Sixers defied their critics last year and made the playoffs, earning the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Led by veteran point guard Andre Miller, 32, this band of youths includes rising star Andre Iguodala, 24, Samuel Dalembert, 27, Louis Williams, 21 and Thaddeus Young, 19. Iguodala is establishing himself as one of the best defenders in the league and a very versatile player on the offensive end. Rookie Thaddeus Young looks like he could be a star in the making and Louis Williams took some major strides last year. The one thing the teams seems to be lacking is low-post scoring. I’d look for them to try to sign free agent Elton Brand, explore the option of trading for a guy like Zach Randolph or address the need in the draft by taking a player like Florida’s Mareese Speights. The Sixers are certainly moving in the right direction and NBA tickets to see them play are sure to be popular among basketball fans.

Indiana Pacers Tickets – Switching Gears

July 17th, 2009
playoff tickets
Derek Cowsert asked:

It must seem to those fans in possession of Indiana Pacers tickets  that the wheels have truly come off of their team. This was a team that once showed great promise. It was full of All-Star players with a playoff-tested coach. This team was considered a contender in the East no more than a few short years ago. So what happened? At what point did this team of All-Stars turn into a team in the middle of rebuilding effort? When did these perennial contenders become a team that can’t even make the playoffs in the lowly Eastern Conference? When did it get so bad, and more importantly, what must the Pacers do to right this sinking ship?

To answer the first question is simple, at least if you ask fans who are have been buying Indiana Pacers tickets for years. The beginning of the end was the infamous brawl in Auburn Hills. There are Pacers fans who treat this incident like the Curse of the Bambino, and they legitimately feel that this event has cast a long shadow of misfortune over their team. Not even the team’s jettisoning of the two men most actively involved in the melee, Stephen Jackson and Ron Artest, seems to have helped matters of chemistry or team karma. This offseason, rumors are rampant that the team is seeking to get rid of their final All-Star from the team that was once a contender – Jermaine O’Neal.

What will happen to the Pacers next year is absolutely anyone’s guest. They drafted well this year, but they unfortunately only had one pick in the second round, and Brandon Rush isn’t exactly going to set the world on fire next season in the NBA. The Pacers also traded Jermaine O’Neal to the Raptors for T.J. Ford. So now, the question still remains, were do the Pacers go from here?

There are no easy answers for the Pacers players, coaches, fans, or front office. This offseason may very well be filled with turmoil. However, fans can rest easy knowing that their team is indeed in good hands. This front office built a contender once, and they should be able to build another, and quickly too. The wheels are already in motion. The gears of change are turning in Indianapolis. So get out there and get some Indiana Pacers tickets for the 2008-2009 season, so you can see your new team up close.

Memphis Grizzlies Tickets – Building for the Future

March 20th, 2009
playoff tickets
Derek Cowsert asked:

Fans that make it a habit to go out and make sure they buy their Memphis Grizzlies tickets  every single season should be commended. Your team has not been very good for a long time, and yet still, you support them, night-in and night-out. You pay your money, show up to the games, and cheer on your team when a lesser fan would complain, throw up his arms, and scream injustice and blood murder. Even after losing Jerry West this offseason, the man who was pulling the strings behind the scenes and slowly but surely building a contender in Memphis, couldn’t deter you from supporting your team. And make no mistake Memphis Grizzlies tickets owners. You are soon to be rewarded.

Your team has one of the best young nucleuses of players in the National Basketball Association. Mike Conley, Mike Miller and Rudy Gay will be enough to keep your team interesting, if not in playoff contention right away. And with the NBA about to enter a turnover period of talent not seen since the Barkleys, Ewings, and Jordans of the league retired, the addition of O.J. Mayo will only help the Grizz compete. The Spurs are an aging team, though after this recent championship, everyone seems to forget this. The Lakers seem as though they’re about to lose Kobe Bryant. The Blazers and Sonics are both building for the future. Phoenix really only has as many years left to contend as Steve Nash’s back can give them. Dallas, talent or not, didn’t make it out of the first round this year. Though it may be hard to see right now, the Grizzlies are doing everything right.

Teams like Denver have it all wrong. They’re taking the “compete right now” approach to the Western Conference, trading for a pricey veteran like Allen Iverson, with no guarantee that he will put them over the hump to beat the Lakers and Spurs of the West. The Grizzlies meanwhile, have build a young, talented team that will be fun to watch next year but won’t actually peak for another 3-5 years, provided they can keep the team together (and they have the cap space to do so). By building for the future, the Grizzlies are taking the long road to success, but it may be the smartest and surest road to take in this Western Conference. So buy your Memphis Grizzlies tickets with pride, and just keep reminding yourself that this young and talented team is only going to get better with age.

Basketball Big Apple Style With New York Knicks Tickets

March 3rd, 2009
playoff tickets
Al Terry asked:

If you have New York Knicks tickets, you know that you are about to see the big daddies of basketball do their thing on the courts. The Knicks have been around the world of basketball for a very long time and they have definitely seen it all- championship wins, bottom-of-the-barrel periods, big stars and memorable plays.

The New York Knicks are based in New York City and play their home games at Madison Square Garden. The team play as part of the National Basketball Association and is also affiliated to the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference. The Knicks have two championship wins to its name, eight conference titles and eight divisions’ wins as well.

Nicks and Hits

The Knicks were formed in 1946, named after Father Knickerbocker, which is seen as a symbol of New York. For the first fifteen years or so, the Knicks were strong players and contenders for the playoff finals. The demand for New York Knicks tickets rose as more and more fans came out to see them play. However, the sixties were a hard time for the team. Till 1966, the team faced some of the hardest years of its life, winding up last in the division every year and pulling in some of their biggest losses ever. It was during this period that Wilt Chamberlain would score an NBA record of 100 points in a game against the Knicks.

There was hope on the horizon however. Soon sales of New York Knicks tickets began to rise, as new talent began to sparkle in the new Knicks drafts. The team began to improve drastically and by the 1969-1970 seasons, they had posted 18 straight wins. The early seventies belonged to the Knicks, as they pulled in big and memorable championship wins at the time. However, another downward spiral was just around the corner.

Ewing and Isaiah

Following their championship dream run, the Knicks hit another rough spot, which they didn’t really recover from until Patrick Ewing joined the team during the 1984 season. The team began to play consistently yet again and managed to post some big wins. However, in 2000 Ewing was traded off and it was the end of another era- though Ewing hadn’t helped in bringing in any championship wins, he had boosted sales of New York Knicks tickets and the cadre of the Knicks game.

In 2003, Isaiah Thomas joined the Knicks, not as a player, but as the team president. He immediately made a number of trades, in an effort to shakedown the team, but the Knicks soon earned the distinction of having the biggest payroll, while being the worst team in the league. In recent times, a number of anti-Knicks websites have appeared in reaction to the bad trades and bad performance of the team. Things have picked up in recent times however, with a number of draft picks performing better than expected. Expectations are high to see what the Knicks will do in the coming season- will they shine or sputter? You can be there to watch the action unfold; contact and authorized online ticket vendor now and order your New York Knicks tickets.

Golden State Warriors Tickets – Can They Recapture the 06-07 Spirit?

February 11th, 2009
playoff tickets
Derek Cowsert asked:

The last two seasons have been some of the most fun and exciting seasons ever to find yourself in possession of Golden State Warriors tickets. Just in case you were living under a rock during the NBA playoffs two years ago, here’s a quick recap. The Warriors, under the tutelage of Coach Don Nelson, began playing their most inspired basketball of 2006-07 toward the tail end of the regular season. Baron Davis became a force of nature. They started running circles around everyone, and they even managed to make the playoffs. They were only an eight seed and they were slated to play the behemoth Dallas Mavericks in the first round.

The Mavericks were of course the heavily favored team, being the number one seed in the Western Conference with the best record in the NBA during the regular season, not to mention the probably league MVP in Dirk Nowitzki. Nobody really gave the Warriors a chance going into the playoffs. Then they won a game. And then they won another game, and another game. Before you knew it, Baron Davis was putting up youtube worthy dunks all over the place, the Warriors were running circles around the Mavs, Don Nelson seemed to be coaching circles around Avery Johnson, and Dirk the MVP shrunk into the shadows. And when the dust settled, the Warriors had sent the Mavs home in the first round, and the sleeping giant of Bay Area basketball fans was suddenly alive and well again in California, and lots more people were in line to buy Golden State Warriors tickets all of the sudden.

Then 2008-09 happened. The Warriors had an amazing run last year, and they drafted exceptionally well this year. They traded Jason Richardson and his contract, freeing up tons of space for them to wheel and deal this season. They also drafted two players in the first round in Brandon Wright and Marco Belinelli who fit very well into the run-and-gun style of Nellieball, as they call it. There’s only one problem. The Warriors missed the playoffs. It wasn’t that they didn’t play well. It was just that the Western Conference was so competitive. Someone had to miss the playoffs, and it was the Warriors. So what now? Well, the Warriors must simply get back to training for next season. If they can make the playoffs, the sky is the limit from there.

What are you waiting for? Get your Golden State Warriors tickets right now!

Atlanta Hawks Tickets – a Knight-less Draft

December 4th, 2008
playoff tickets
Derek Cowsert asked:

General Manager Billy Knight has tried the patience of longtime owners of Atlanta Hawks tickets for the past few years. His greatest moment may have come in passing over the 2006 Rookie of the Year, Brandon Roy, in last year’s draft. Billy Knight basically knew he had this year’s draft to save his job, and he did a pretty good job, landing Al Horford with the number 3 pick, and Acie Law III – the point guard they so desperately need – at the 11 spot. Whether or not these two picks were enough to save Knight’s job, the fact remains that they are two solid picks. Unfortunately, fans of the Hawks are left ultimately to wonder what might have been.

What might have happened, say, if the Hawks had not passed on Brandon Roy in last season’s draft? They might have won more games this year, giving fans more reason to rush out and buy a few more Atlanta Hawks tickets. Then again, if they’d drafted Roy, they might not have been a lottery team, and they might not have had a chance at Al Horford and Acie Law III in 2007. So perhaps things may still work out in Atlanta’s favor.

However, the biggest “what-if?” for Hawks fans going into next year will most certainly be the pre-draft trade that wasn’t. The trade, reported between the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Phoenix Suns, and the Atlanta Hawks, would have allegedly sent Amare Stoudemire, the young offensive big man for the Suns, to Atlanta. To be fair, many aspects of pulling the trigger on this trade were far outside of Knight’s control, as the Hawks are mired in a crippling ownership battle at the moment. However, it was Knight who bit the bullet and was fired because the Hawks didn’t do enough this season.

Draft day came and went without a pick by the Hawks, and this was Billy Knight’s fault. Knight of course no longer works for the Hawks. His reward for their trip to the playoffs (in which they took the Celtics to the limit) was his pink slip. The new GM had better do a very good job – and quickly – because the fans in possession of Atlanta Hawks tickets are absolutely rabid about backing a true contender.
