Nfl Tickets - Nfc North Preview

October 20th, 2009
playoff tickets
Morgan Dunn asked:

NFL tickets for all NFC North teams can be found at StubHub.com.

Bears – The Bears are coming off of a tumultuous offseason due to Cedric Benson’s penchant for drinking. The team has cut ties with the former first round pick after two alcohol-related incidents this offseason and is ready to move on. Luckily, or perhaps thanks to some fortunetelling, the Bears drafted running back Matt Forte out of Tulane. Forte should be able to step into the starting role and play at least as well as Benson did last season. The quarterback position remains a weakness and was shockingly not addressed in the draft. Rex Grossman is a turnover machine and Kyle Orton, though a solid game manager, won’t win you the game. The defense should be strong and the team just inked all-world tackle Tommie Harris to a four-year deal.

Vikings – The Vikings are one of the up and coming teams in the NFC. Second-year running back Adrian Peterson could be the best back in the league and is poised for a monster season running behind Steve Hutchinson and Bryant McKinnie. The defense is great at forcing turnovers and should be even better thanks to an offseason deal with the Chiefs to acquire accomplished pass-rusher Jared Allen. If quarterback Tavaris Jackson can cut down on his mistakes, this is a playoff team.

Packers – The Aaron Rodgers era begins. Rodgers has had a few years to study under Brett Favre and has looked good when he’s gotten the chance to play. Breakout stud running back Ryan Grant provides a nice ground game and Rodgers has one of the best receiving corps in the league to throw to. The defense is solid and the team is pretty well-rounded. As long as Rodgers performs well, they should win the division.

Lions – The Lions have a potent offense and added running back Kevin Smith to the mix via the draft so that’s not where the concern lies. With tremendously talented receivers Calvin Johnson and Roy Williams, the team is sure to sell NFL tickets and QB Jon Kitna should have a solid season. Should he struggle at all though, I would hope they’d give a look to 2007 draft pick Drew Stanton. Kitna can only be their signal caller for so long. The defense is where the Lions will need to improve if they’re going to make a run at the postseason.

NFL tickets to see NFC North competition are available now.

The Innovators

October 18th, 2009
superbowl tickets
Jackthesmuggler asked:

Innovator-(noun)-Someone who introduces a new way of doing something : One who renews or creates a new style.

There have been many men who have added to the NFL game. Men like Vince Lombardi, the great motivator come to mind. Men like Hank Stram are thought of as well. No conversation about innovating and changing the way the NFL game is played could be had without mentioning coaches like Bill Parcells,Bill Belichick as well as Cleveland Brown coach Paul Brown.

In this article I have chosen to highlight 3 of the NFL’s all time innovators. George Halas, Bill Walsh and Tom Landry.

These three men have made strides and changes to the NFL game that still resonate in todays game and will continue right on up into the future.

George Halas

George Halas was probably the most important person ever associated with the Chicago Bears NFL franchise. Starting out as an employee with the A.E Staley Company in Decatur Ill,Halas played on the company football team. It was Halas who selected his alma mater’s colors of orange and navy blue as the teams uniform colors.

After financial losses team founder Augustus E Staley turned control of the team over to Halas in 1921.In 1922 the name was changed to “The Bears” in tribute to the Chicago Cubs who let the Bears play their games at Wrigley Field.

Not only did Halas play for the Bears,he also handled the team business and even sold tickets. Even more incredible,Halas even coached the team. After 10 years Halas retired from coaching as well as playing. In 1933 Halas was right back to coaching for another 10 seasons.

By the end of the 1930’s Halas (with help from University of Chicago coach Clark Shaughnessy) mastered the T Formation system, which was a new and dominating style that helped the Bears win the 1940 Championship game. All the NFL teams began to copy Halas and his system. With the Bears repeating as Champions in 1941, the 40’s became known for the Bears referring to them as the “Monsters of the Midway.”

The Monsters of The Midway

Halas finally retired from coaching after the 1967 season. At the time he was the oldest coach in the league. He continued as the Bears principal owner and handled team operations until his death in 1983 at age 88.

Halas had both a negative and positive impact on NFL Football as far as segregation. In the 1930’s Halas refused to sign black players to the Bears. Eventually Halas had a change of heart and helped bring black players into the league. Halas would sign Quarterback Willie Thrower, who, playing for the Bears became the leagues first black quarterback.

Halas’ innovative nature showed all over the league. His teams were the first to hold daily practice sessions. Also they were the first team to analyze film of other teams. Halas team was also the first to place assistant coaches in the press boxes where they could see the team as a whole. A method that is still used today. Halas team was also the first to broadcast games by radio.

Maybe George Halas most important contribution to the league was being a strong early advocate of “Revenue Sharing”. Halas offered to share the Bears huge television income with teams in smaller cities believing that as the league did good so would his team.

George Halas record of 63 years as a owner,40 years as a coach,324 wins, and 8 NFL Titles makes him a charter member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which by the way is located on George Halas Drive. The Chicago Bears to this day still honor Halas with the initials GSH on their left sleeve.

Tom Landry

Tom Landry’s life story is a little bit better known than Halas. I mean everyone knows about ‘The Hat’.He was born in Mission Texas and attended the University of Texas. As a defensive back Landry’s star shined bright.Playing defensive back in the AAFC for the “Yankees in 1949,by 1950 Landry moved to the New York Giants. In 1954 he was even selected as an all-pro. He played through 1955 acting as assistant coach the last two (54 and 55). Landry ened his career with 32 interceptions in just 80 games.

In 1956 Tom Landry became the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants opposite future Hall Of Fame coach Vince Lombardi who was the offensive coordinator.Together they appeared in 3 NFL Championship games winning in 1956.

By 1960 Landry became the first head coach of the Dallas Cowboys where he would stay for 29 seasons. After starting off the 1960 season with a 0-11-1 record,Landry would go on to win 2 Superbowls,5 NFC titles and 13 Divisional titles with a 270-178-6 all time record. Oh and did I mention Landry’s 20 consecutive winning seasons (1966-85) a league record, Impressive to say the least.

When it came to innovation Tom Landry was ahead of his time and the “Flex Defense” was his baby. With eight natural gaps along the line of scrimmage, traditional defenses had four linemen control two gaps. The defensive tackle had to control the gaps between the center and guard and the guard and tackle. The focus was on power. Take away the blocker, find the ball and then make a play.Landry had his right ends and left tackles line up in spots along the line of scrimmage nose to nose with blockers. The right tackle and left end would line up a few feet back from scrimmage, that opened up better pursuit lanes.Landry then asked his defenders up front to control one gap apiece, except for the middle linebacker. He had to control two, The Flex gave them gap control at the point of attack, allowing everyone else to pursue.

As Landry got better players the Flex became the famous “Doomsday” front.

With his offense Landry brought in the famed “Shotgun”where his quarterback could stand five yards deep allowing him to see the defense and possible holes in it. Designed first as a running play for the quarterback,Landry smartly turned it into a passing play for his mobile quarterback Rodger Staubach. The Hail Mary pass from Staubach to Drew Pearson to beat the Minnesota Vikings in that years playoffs came out of the Shotgun. Twenty Five years later every NFL team has the Shotgun in its playbook, thanks to Tom Landry.

Landry even drafted in a new innovative way. Instead of the normal short, stocky players,Landry liked tall, lean players who took long strides and could cover more ground in the pass rush. Again 25 years later all NFL teams yearn for pass rushers who are shaped more like NBA power forwards.

Landry was also first to bring in quality control coaches. Quality coach Ermal Allen would go over game film and look for tendencies of opposing teams to give Landry and the Cowboys an edge. Today every NFL team has a quality control coach and many have two.

Besides being a man of integrity and class Tom Landry will forever be known as a master builder of todays NFL and almost always the first name mentioned in any discussion about innovators of the NFL.

Bill Walsh

Simply known as “The Genius” Bill Walsh’s innovations on offense simply said..”changed the game. Walsh was best known as the creator of the “West Coast Offense. The unstoppable offense that if done right was nearly full proof.

Walsh began his football career as a somewhat average end at San Jose State in 1952-53. In 1954 he started his coaching career at Washington State High School in Freemont CA. Not long after that Walsh was hired as a assistant coach by future legendary head coach Marv Levy at California.

Walsh then moved on to Stanford before beginning his pro coaching career with the then AFL’s Oakland Raiders in 1966. In 1968 Walsh joined the Cincinnati Bengals where he worked for legendary coach Paul Brown. It was with the Bengals that Walsh gained complete control over an offense.

Walsh begain working on a scheme that used short drop backs and uncomplicated receiving routes. Walsh practiced these schemes over and over during practices. These schemes years later became known as ‘The West Coast Offense” a name Walsh never liked.

Walsh hated running the ball. He preferred a smooth flowing air game. After a falling out with Paul Brown, Walsh left the Bengals for another short stay with Stanford as well as the San Diego Chargers. In 1979 he accepted the job to rebuild the San Francisco 49ers. In Walsh first stint as coach his record was 2-14. Earlier in 1979 the 49ers drafted a young quarterback named Joe Montana to whom Walsh turned over the starting job. It was a match made in heaven. By 1981 the 49ers had their first Championship.

Under Walsh the 49ers added Ronnie Lott,Charles Haley,Rodger Craig and the great Jerry Rice to whom Walsh he considered like a father.

The number of successful coaches who came off the Bill Walsh tree reads like a who’s who of great NFL coaches. George Seifert,Mike Holgram,Dennis Green,Sam Wyche,Ray Rhodes, and Bruce Coslet. Many of his assistants passed on Walsh’s knowledge to other coaches including Mike Shanahan,Jon Gruden,Brian Billick,Andy Reid,Pete Carroll,Gary Kubiak,Steve Mariucci and Jeff Fisher.

Walsh also created the Minority Coaching Fellowship program in 1987.This program helped minority coaches get jobs in the white-dominated position. The program was later adopted league wide.

Walsh compiled a record of 102-63-1 with the 49ers. He won 10 of his 14 postseason games along with 6 division titles. Walsh was elected into the Football Hall Of Fame in 1993 mostly because he was a master with a chalkboard and a piece of chalk. I cant think of many men who did more to shape football more going into the 21st century.

In closing I would just like to add that while exploring these three men Ive come to see how much each of them embody the spirit of the innovator. Each in different ways but yet each of them seeing a need to take what had already seemed perfected and making it that much better. It was truly fun for me to write this article as it forces me to dig deep within myself to see if I have the spirit of the INNOVATOR.

Dallas Cowboys Tickets Available

September 3rd, 2009
playoff tickets
Jeff asked:

Based in the Dallas suburb of Irvine, Texas — the Cowboys are a professional football team that was established back in 1960 under the Western Conference, a year later they became part of the Eastern conference which was a venture that lasted about eight years (1969); from 1970 until today they have been part of the national football conference East division.  Their home stadiums are and have been: the cotton bowl, the Texas Stadium, the new stadium in Arlington, Texas.  The current owner and general manager of the team is Jerry Jones and head coach Wade Phillips.

Championships and important moments:

It goes without saying a Dallas Cowboys are one of the most successful professional football teams in the NFL, they have had a record number of appearances in playoff games, in total they have had 29 appearances in playoff games which go back from 1966 all the way to 2007 (and they will most likely be present in the 2008 season and the many to come).  They have 10 conference championships and 19 division championships under their belt and to top it all off they have been Super Bowl champions five different occasions (1971, 1977, 1992, 1993 and 1995).  We should also add to the list of accomplishments of the Dallas Cowboys are one of the wealthiest teams and football franchises in the NFL, their average annual revenue is estimated at 250 million.

Quarterbacks in the current roster:

– Jeff Terrell

– Brad Johnson

– Richard Bartel

– Tony Romo

Dallas Cowboys recent news:

Internal battles and tight competition is keeping a Dallas Cowboys team ahead of the curve and as a sample we just have to mention two names Owens-Jones, these two players have been battling each other during the drills like there’s no tomorrow and each one has had an equivalent amount of success through their tight competition but, things appear to be tougher for Jones who is coming back after missing one whole year due to an NFL suspension while he was playing with Tennessee.

According to Jones, he is having a blast after having to go up against a world-class athlete such that T.O. as he has said such tight competition and training will only make them better and stronger; that of the Dallas Cowboys know that the 2008 season is good be a great one for the team which is why their tickets have always been on fire.

Nfl Football Playoff Ticket – the Big Ones are Here, Get Ready to Rock Em

August 15th, 2009
playoff tickets
Cassaundra Flores asked:

A single tournament where there are a total of 16games is one for which NFL football playoff tickets are rarely available. From every conference, six teams will qualify to play based on their performance in the past year and their current standing in overall football teams. The NFL football playoff tickets is what will get you to witness every touch down and stand-offs by your favorite teams and in order to get these NFL football playoff tickets one has to be alert and book well in advance. Since the advent of technology and the introduction of the web world, it has become easy to keep track of the updates pertaining to the matches and the schedule for the same. This way they can plan ahead and book well in advance for the games they wish to watch live. Also the rates are likely to be lesser if booked ahead of time instead of waiting last minute. The websites also give out information about different teams playing, and a bit of history about each of them and about NFL in general. This is mainly for the benefit of those coming for the first time or from out of town.

Since each of the six teams needs to play all other teams and win to qualify for further rounds, the games are spread across days and sometimes last for a whole month. So each and every match is a do or die situation for them, unless they are the top two leading teams. In which case, they get to sit back and skip two games and move onto the finals. The entire month is filled with excitement and people rush from offices and work places to watch the match on TV. Every catch and standoff is precious for the fans and so they would not want to miss a single and so when they have the NFL football playoff tickets in their hand, they make sure to be ready and all set on that particular day.

Be it the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Chicago Bulls, the teams will have to be prepared to face each other in the playoffs. All major teams will participate in this and the players will be pumped up and ready to battle against all odds to win the Super Bowl championship. This is a prestigious title, when earned brings with it a whole new range of respect. Soon after getting hold of the schedule, it is then time to plan out your agenda and block the NFL football playoff tickets. Ever since the American Football league and National Football league merged into one, the playoffs have been the biggest attraction in America and for Americans worldwide. Since sports fans watch the games on TV or in pubs regularly, they are aware of the teams performing well and those that are struggling. Hence, they will observe, make note and pick up the NFL football playoff tickets to the matches that are likely to be exciting and thrilling.

Nfl Tickets - Nfc East Preview

August 4th, 2009
playoff tickets
Morgan Dunn asked:

NFL tickets for all NFC East teams can be found at StubHub.com.

Cowboys – Despite the fact that this division boasts the reigning Super Bowl champion, the Cowboys are still the favorite to win it. They have one of the most talented rosters in the league and are loaded with playmakers on both offense and defense. It will be interesting to see how Marion Barber adjusts to a more full-time role and if he wears down at all. Barber spent his college days splitting carries with Laurence Maroney and has split carries with Julius Jones his entire NFL career. On defense, the Cowboys took a chance and acquired troubled but talented cornerback Adam Jones from the Titans. Word is that the club (the ball club, hopefully not the strip club) will play Jones in the nickel slot and the return game. He could end up being an excellent addition to an already talented squad. The question remains whether this team can win in the playoffs.

Giants – The reigning champs’ bid to repeat will not be without its challenges. The team lost future hall-of-famer Michael Strahan to retirement and a few other important pieces. Wide receiver Plaxico Burress wants a new contract, but both sides appear confident that they’ll get a deal done. Burress is a player the Giants cannot go into the season without. Tight end Jeremy Shockey is not happy. He wants to be traded, but the Giants turned down a second-round pick from the Saints on draft day and it’s unlikely they’ll receive a better offer. When he plays though, he’s a top tight end in the league and helps sell NFL tickets. If Eli Manning can maintain the high level he played at down the stretch last season, they’ll be a force on offense.

Eagles – The Eagles’ major offseason acquisition was cornerback Asante Samuel. Samuel is one of the best corners in the league and has a nose for the ball. He should help bolster that defense as they can leave Samuel in one on one coverage against opposing number one receivers. Donovan McNabb needs to stay healthy. If he struggles, fans will be calling for second-year quarterback Kevin Kolb.

Redskins – The Skins have a ton of talent on offense and quarterback Jason Campbell should fare better with another year under his belt. The team was reeling from the death of safety Sean Taylor last season and it was a miracle they could focus at all. They may end up in the basement on the division, but they’ll be the best last place team if they do.

NFL tickets to see NFC East competition are available now.

Football Ticket – Kick it Around a Bit, in Real

May 30th, 2009
superbowl tickets
Robert Riles asked:

A game for which people throng ticket counters for Football ticket is all about two teams of eleven players in each battling it out on a large field against another team to score a goal. The football tickets are always in demand, and this sport is next in popularity after cricket although in America, it follow Baseball. The Football tickets are available on the net as well these days, where people can simply go to any of the websites and book any number of tickets. They can use their credit cards or other modes of payment to pay for the online tickets which will be delivered to their contact address within a day or two. This sport is popular all over the world and is known by different names. It is called Soccer in America and simply as Football in England and other parts of the world is a game that involves plenty of planning and strategy to outsmart the opponent teams.

There are numerous championships and games played between various football teams and so tickets can be bought based on one’s preference. The NFL games, English FA cup, FIFA 2008, World cup are some that draw large crowds from all corners of the world. For that matter, any person living in the USA or in a country where football is popular will also start enjoying it as much if not more. Such is the appeal this game has and some wait all year for the match so they can take off time from work and have some fun. Some go for matches as a family and for them it is a vacation of sorts for which they plan and wait patiently.

For some ardent fans of the game, if a certain player is in the match, they fight for Football tickets and make sure to witness his moves. For example, if Terrel Owens of the New York Giants in part of the playoffs, the fans will take over the stadium every time he does a touch down or pushes an opponent player down. The game is filled with nervous fans waiting for their team to score and the reactions are very visible. Right now, all are waiting for the Superbowl 2007 Championship which will have all leading teams fighting it out and all eyes will be on the Indiana polis Colts and Chicago bears who are in the leading positions. In order to be among the fortunate few to get a Football ticket, the fans will either go through a website or approach a broker who can get the tickets for them. But in this mode, they might have to shell out a bit more for the broker as he is being the middleman. Football is a sport that is in the news because of the mob attack or tussle between the fans. Football tickets are considered priceless and some fans preserve their tickets for years after the match is over, it’s a sort of a souvenir for them.

Arizona Cardinals Tickets

January 14th, 2009
sports tickets
Macie asked:

The Cardinals are the oldest continuous professional American football club in the United States. The Arizona Cardinals are based in Glendale, Arizona, just outside of Phoenix. The Cardinals are currently members of the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL).

The team was formed in 1898 as the Morgan Athletic Club in Chicago. The club was then called the Racine Normals, since they were originally located in Normal Park on Chicago’s Racine Avenue. They then changed their name to the Racine Cardinals after they started wearing dark reddish uniforms, inherited from the collegiate Chicago Maroons.

Overview

The Cardinals have never made a Super Bowl appearance; they are currently one of six NFL teams never to have done so. http://www.ticketmayor.com Their lone NFL championship game victory, in 1947, while based in Chicago, came two decades before the first Super Bowl Game was played. The club’s other NFL championship, in 1925, occurred eight years before the league began holding a championship game. In 1988, they moved to Arizona from St. Louis, Missouri. In 2006 the club began playing all home games at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, after spending 17 years at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe

After becoming a charter member of the NFL in 1920, the club was renamed the Chicago Cardinals. In 1944, during the lean years of World War II, the Cardinals temporarily merged into the Pittsburgh Steelers and became one franchise, usually referred to as Card-Pitt, for that one season. The team was later known as the Phoenix Cardinals before it started using “Arizona” in its name in 1994.

The Cardinals were NFL Champions in 1925 and 1947 and last played for the NFL title in 1948. However, the team has not won a league title nor played in the championship game since then, and thus currently holds the NFL record for the longest championship drought and along with the Houston Texans (founded in 2002) are the only team not to appear in a conference championship game.

Franchise history

Chicago years (1898-1959)

The Cardinals are the oldest existing football club in the United States. Early in the 20th century (by 1913), the team turned professional.

The team disbanded in 1906 mostly for lack of local competition, but reformed in 1913. They were forced to suspend operations for a second time in 1918 because of World War I and the outbreak of the Spanish Flu Pandemic. They resumed operations later in the year, and have since operated continuously. The Cardinals won their last NFL championship game in 1947 (28-21 over the Philadelphia Eagles).

St. Louis years (1960-1987)

Coincidentally, St. Louis already had a baseball team called the “Cardinals”. The established National League team eventually decided against pressing a formal objection to another sports team in the city using the same name. Sports fans and local news broadcasters called the team “the St. Louis football Cardinals” to distinguish the two teams.

The new St. Louis football Cardinals were much improved, and the team was competitive for much of the 1960s. New stars emerged. This period for the franchise was characterized by exciting close games, come-from-behind nailbiters, and several frustrating near-misses. In 1977, the Cardinals started slowly but won 6 consecutive games before losing the Thanksgiving Day game to the Miami Dolphins, 55-14. During the Cardinals’ 28-year stay in St. Louis, they advanced to the playoffs just three times (1974, 1975 & 1982), never hosting or winning in any appearance. The team left St. Louis before the 1988 season. Arizona years (1988-Present)

In 1988, the Cardinals moved to Arizona, and the Phoenix Cardinals started playing home games in Sun Devil Stadium on the campus of Arizona State University.

The Cardinals have not had a winning season since their 1998 playoff appearance. In 2007, under new coach Ken Whisenhunt the Cardinals went 8-8, their best record since 1998.

Logos

The team has used the cardinal red jerseys since Chris O’Brien bought them for the club in 1901. And for most of its history, the Cardinals have used the same basic uniform design of white helmets, white pants with red stripes on the sides, and either red or white jerseys. Starting in 1947, the team had a logo of a cardinal bird perched on the stitches of a football.

Conclusion

Arizona Cardinals, despite ups and downs in their career have still remained close to the hearts of millions of fans till this day.

Nfl Tickets - Nfc South Preview

December 10th, 2008
playoff tickets
Morgan Dunn asked:

NFL tickets for all NFC South teams can be found at StubHub.com.

Falcons – The Falcons are in rebuilding mode and are trying to forget the Michael Vick era in Atlanta. They made that abundantly clear by drafting Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan and making him the face of the franchise by giving him a huge contract. They also acquired Michael Turner via free agency which should bolster their running game. Ryan has a lot of learning to do and the team really won’t get going offensively until he grasps the system. The team isn’t going to win very many games this season, but they’re young players will have a chance to develop and their offensive players will have time to gel.

Panthers – The Panthers are a tough team to figure out. They always look to have the talent to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl but don’t seem to put it together. I think the skills of rookie running back Jonathan Stewart are going to translate very well to the pros and he should be getting more carries than DeAngelo Williams by week three. But the team will go as QB Jake Delhomme goes. If he can stay healthy and get things going with Steve Smith, the offense could roll. The defense is pretty good and they have one of the best defensive players in the league in Julius Peppers. It’s all about putting everything together and living up to their potential as a team.

Saints – This is a team to watch this season. They started so slowly last year that they couldn’t recover and make the playoffs despite turning things around in the second half. The offense is going to put up points; they just need to be able to slow down their opponents. Acquiring Jonathan Vilma may have been the best move of the offseason. He’s a fantastic player in a 4-3 scheme and should be fan favorite in New Orleans. If the defense can take some strides, there’s no telling how far this team can go. Even if they don’t win games, Reggie Bush will still sell NFL Tickets in New Orleans.

Bucs – This team is hard to get a read on. Jeff Garcia can only take them so far and there’s no telling how Cadillac Williams is going to do in his return from injury. The team has some nice young players but a lot of their starters are getting a bit old. I don’t see them making the playoffs this season.

NFL tickets to see NFC South competition are available now.
