Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota - the Minnesota Twins are a professional baseball team that was established back in 1901, and they are one of the eight AL charter franchises.  The reason the team carries the name “twins” is because of the symbolism and representation of the twin cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The Minnesota Twins have not always been known by that name, from 1901 to 1960 the franchise was referred to as the Washington national’s or the Washington senators so it wasn’t until 1961 when the team became known as the Minnesota twins.  The team ballpark is the Hubbard Humphrey Metrodome; the team owner is Carl Pohlad, the team manager is Ron Gardenhire and the General Manager is Bill Smith.

Accomplishments and import moments:

The Minnesota twins have had a great history and series of accomplishments that have paved the way to where they are today.  The team has won four west division titles in the years of 1969, 1970, 1987 and 1991; they can also add to their resume for central division titles earned during 2002, three, four and 2006.  When it comes to American League pennants they have also earned six of them in years that span from 1924 all the way to 1991.  Last but not least, the team has had three successful participations in the World Series games during the years of 1924, 1987 and finally 1991.

Even though the team did not realized the goal of reaching the postseason by ironically, one run they certainly proved many people wrong at bay shield that they were not on the mist of that’s what is known as a rebuilding season.  While it is true that there are many rookies on the team, the veterans are putting all their efforts into teaching the new talent all their wits and make the team even stronger, such team spirit this sure to come across in future seasons.

As a team, the Twins finished the year ranked in the bottom four in the following offensive stats: runs, doubles, on base percentage and slugging percentage. While they were able to accrue an above average amount of triples, and their batting average of .264 was not a factor in holding them back, the Twins clearly needed help on the offensive side of the ball in order to get the team to the next level.

Pitching and defense were the bright spots for the Twins. Team ERA for Minnesota in 2007 was 4.15, the fourth best in the AL. Johan Santana is still considered to be one of the best starting pitchers in the game. Santana won 15 games and earned a team-leading ERA of 3.33. He was an All-Star and won a Gold Glove. Then, with some better luck on offense, this team could be selling Minnesota Twins tickets for the playoffs in no time.

As the Senators the team had a hard start right from the beginning and after momentarily wowing the crowd in 1945, they slipped into a steady rut of mediocrity. The team began to be remembered for its failures and misses and it wasn’t until the team moved to Minnesota that things began to change.

In the 1960s, the team moved and changed its name from the Senators to the Minnesota Twins. The team showed an improvement in their performance and soon fans began to line up to buy Minnesota Twins tickets. The Twins were one of the strongest teams, made up of a strong core of young talented players. In 1967 in particular, the twins made a strong run for the pennant and it was thought that the team would definitely make it big soon.

The entire world of baseball seems to be waiting with baited breath to see what magic the Twins will conjure in year 2007.

Minnesotans, your beloved team needs you to get out there and buy Minnesota Twins tickets and support your boys. The Twins are slipping in what is shaping up as the nastiest division in all of Major League Baseball. If the Twins want to make the playoffs again this year, they are going to have to battle hard through the other teams in the American League Central. If they don’t pick up the pace soon, they run the risk of being left in the dust of the Chicago White Sox. Luckily, the Sox aren’t playing their best ball right now, so you can still get some Minnesota Twins tickets and cheer your team into the playoffs.

The Twins need to get on the ball. They have a chance to overtake the Sox in the AL Central, but they need to win. They’re only a half game out of their own division but they are five games back in the Wild Card. As you can clearly see, the Twins are still right in the hunt. There is no reason to start giving away your Twins tickets just because your team isn’t as yet atop the division. Let’s not get hasty. The Twins are still very much alive.

The Twins need their big hitters to step up and start crushing the ball like they did last year. The Twins need their best players to stop complaing, step up, and simply win more baseball games. They’re going to need one more thing as well. They are going to need your help. They’re going to need their fans to get out to the ballpark and cheer them on. They need you to believe in them, to truly believe that even against the odds, your team can indeed make the playoffs.
