Al Terry asked:

Atlanta thrashers are an Atlanta based professional ice hockey team. The team’s name ‘thrasher’ was kept after Brown Thrasher, the state bird of Georgia. The name was selected after a fan poll. The Atlantic thrashers play in the Southeast Division of NHL’s Eastern Conference. Presently, Bob Hartley coaches the team. Atlanta thrashers tickets have become of great value ever since the team was awarded an NHL franchise in June 1997. They have replaced the Calgary flames, that moved to Calgary in 1980.This saw the expansion of the team’s franchisees to Atlanta; Saint Paul, Minnesota; Columbus, Ohio; and Nashville, Tennessee.

Losses And Gains

Atlanta thrashers also have had their share of losses. The thrashers played their first game on October 2nd 1999. They lost 4-1 to New Jersey devils. In September 2003, the team was sold to a group of Atlanta spirit, LLC by Time Warner. This was followed by a major accident involving two top players. Dany Heatly was seriously injured and Dan Snyder died in a car crash. The 03-04 season was dedicated to Snyder with all the team members wearing Snyder’s number 37 on their jerseys. In the 2003- 04 season led by captain Shawn McEachern, Ilya Kovalchuk scored eight goals in the first seven games. This incuded two hat tricks, one was a 7-2 win against Chicago Blackhawks. The other was a victory against Nashville Predetors. This was the best season for the thrashers in which, out of 82 games, they won 33, lost 37, tied 8 and had overtime losses in 4 games.

In the 05-06 season, many top players were roped in for the game. A major trade was done on August 23, 2005 when Dany Heatly was traded for Marian Hossa and Greg de Vries. Other players like Mike Dunham, Peter Bondra, Bobby Holik, Jaroslav Modry, and Scott Mellanby were also signed in.

10 years after the franchisee, the thrashers made the 2007 playoffs losing to the New York rangers. After losing main top player Marc Savard, to the Bruins, other players were roped in fill up. Players like Niko Kapanen, Steve Rucchin, and Jon Sim were pulled in to increase the Atlanta thrashers tickets sale. In the 2007 season, they won their first division championship in the franchisee history. Players like Marian Hossa and Ilya Kovalchuk and goaltender Kari Lehtonen were the champions of the game. Thrashers present team colors are ice blue, navy blue, red, and gold. Their new jersey and thrashers logo has created a great interest among hockey fans. The logo shows an eagle holding a hockey stick. The 2008 season is expected to be a major sellout for the Atlanta thrashers tickets.

Al Terry asked:

New Yorkers swear by their sports teams, and they have nine of them for the major four sports – basketball, baseball, hockey, and football. The two ice hockey teams based in New York are the New York Islanders and the New York Rangers. Whenever the New York Islanders play in New York, obtaining the New York Islanders tickets is never easy. Most of the New York Islanders tickets are sold out well in advance of the season, and if you have missed your chance to procure your tickets, you have only one recourse – procuring your New York Islanders tickets through the services of the New York ticket broker.

The New York ticket broker is that one entity who can assure you of your New York Islanders tickets for the games you wish to watch. All the ticket brokers have their unique sources through which they procure your tickets for you. All you need to do is to tell them your requirements, and they will ensure you get your tickets in time. Your New York Islanders tickets will be delivered to your door.

For your New York Islanders tickets, you will need to pay a little extra, over and above the face value of the tickets. It is obvious that the ticket brokers have to pay that little extra to get those tickets for you. The extra you pay is to cover the costs incurred towards obtaining those New York Islanders tickets. What you get for the extra little you pay is the guarantee of the New York Islanders tickets of your choice.

The Other Sources For The Tickets

You may wish to risk buying your New York Islanders tickets from sources other than the licensed ticket brokers of New York. Many people have tried to procure their tickets from dubious sources, such as the many re-sale forums; the auction sites, such as eBay; and from those scalpers you see in swarms around the venues where your favorite team is playing. Procuring your New York Islanders tickets from these sources is quite risky, as you are never assured of the genuineness of the tickets. Many have been scammed by the fake tickets from these sources.

You, too, need to be cautious and should purchase your New York Islanders tickets from the reliable New York ticket brokers, if unable to lay your hands on them through the box office.

The Team

The New York Islanders are the second of the two New York ice hockey teams. Formed in 1972, through a franchise awarded to Roy Boe, the owner of New York Nets of the American Basketball Association, the New York Islanders play in the Atlantic Division of the National Hockey League (NHL), and they are based at Uniondale, New York.

The New York Islanders have won four consecutive Stanley Cups – the championship trophy of the NHL – in the 1979-80, 1980-81, 1981-82, 1982-83 seasons. They also have three consecutive Prince of Wales Trophies - awarded to the Eastern Conference (formerly the Wales Conference) playoff champions - for the 1982, 1983, and 1984 seasons, under their belt.
