Hannah Montana Fans Fighting Brokers for Concert Tickets

Groshan Fabiola asked:

If you think Disney’s the only one reaping loads of money from the television hit Hannah Montana, think again. Miley Cyrus has grown into a massive teen idol since her show, Hannah Montana, hit the airwaves, and it seems that nothing’s gonna stop her now. She recently launched a tour which would take her to various states in the U.S. and previous reports say that her tickets literally flew out of the stores.

This became a problem to the hundreds of other eager fans who would like to see her in concert. The tickets were immediately sold, leaving the fans to look for other ways to purchase them. The solution was to approach a scalper. However, being the tricky businessmen that they are, the scalpers have been selling these tickets at unbelievable prices.

Apparently, scalpers have hogged the tickets and are now selling it from $200 to thousands of dollars per ticket. Ticket Liquidator prices the second row floor seats in Texas for $2,295 while StubHub, a popular concert ticket website, priced $3500 for a November concert date in Florida. TicketsNow started selling at $70 and ranging to over $1600 for Miley Cyrus show in North Carolina.

Pollster’s editor-in-chief Gary Bongiavanni anticipated this occurrence. ‘Up to 80 percent of inquiries of tickets come from these brokers,’ he said. ‘The average fan is competing with a pro whose mission is to score these tickets. Fans are at a disadvantage.’

In St. Louis, 1900 tickets were up for purchase at their original prices. Yesterday, the fans with photo IDs and credit cards were able to purchase the tickets to Miley Cyrus’ show in Minnesota. The concert tour begins on October 18, and will take her to 53 other cities to perform live. The sale of tickets will be the same for a December date in Kansas City.

As of now, no one has taken responsibility for this incident, however, attorney generals in various states have threatened and filed lawsuits against brokers. They do not accept any part in the problem, however, despite the fact that scalping is illegal in many states.

AEG Live president Debra Rathwell had only one thing to say: ‘We are doing everything possible to stop scalpers from being able to purchase tickets.’

How to Purchase New York Islanders Tickets

July 16th, 2009

Al Terry asked:

New Yorkers swear by their sports teams, and they have nine of them for the major four sports – basketball, baseball, hockey, and football. The two ice hockey teams based in New York are the New York Islanders and the New York Rangers. Whenever the New York Islanders play in New York, obtaining the New York Islanders tickets is never easy. Most of the New York Islanders tickets are sold out well in advance of the season, and if you have missed your chance to procure your tickets, you have only one recourse – procuring your New York Islanders tickets through the services of the New York ticket broker.

The New York ticket broker is that one entity who can assure you of your New York Islanders tickets for the games you wish to watch. All the ticket brokers have their unique sources through which they procure your tickets for you. All you need to do is to tell them your requirements, and they will ensure you get your tickets in time. Your New York Islanders tickets will be delivered to your door.

For your New York Islanders tickets, you will need to pay a little extra, over and above the face value of the tickets. It is obvious that the ticket brokers have to pay that little extra to get those tickets for you. The extra you pay is to cover the costs incurred towards obtaining those New York Islanders tickets. What you get for the extra little you pay is the guarantee of the New York Islanders tickets of your choice.

The Other Sources For The Tickets

You may wish to risk buying your New York Islanders tickets from sources other than the licensed ticket brokers of New York. Many people have tried to procure their tickets from dubious sources, such as the many re-sale forums; the auction sites, such as eBay; and from those scalpers you see in swarms around the venues where your favorite team is playing. Procuring your New York Islanders tickets from these sources is quite risky, as you are never assured of the genuineness of the tickets. Many have been scammed by the fake tickets from these sources.

You, too, need to be cautious and should purchase your New York Islanders tickets from the reliable New York ticket brokers, if unable to lay your hands on them through the box office.

The Team

The New York Islanders are the second of the two New York ice hockey teams. Formed in 1972, through a franchise awarded to Roy Boe, the owner of New York Nets of the American Basketball Association, the New York Islanders play in the Atlantic Division of the National Hockey League (NHL), and they are based at Uniondale, New York.

The New York Islanders have won four consecutive Stanley Cups – the championship trophy of the NHL – in the 1979-80, 1980-81, 1981-82, 1982-83 seasons. They also have three consecutive Prince of Wales Trophies - awarded to the Eastern Conference (formerly the Wales Conference) playoff champions - for the 1982, 1983, and 1984 seasons, under their belt.
